Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus Yang Yundong Visits the University of Cyprus

On September 7, 2026, Ambassador of China to Cyprus Yang Yundong visited the University of Cyprus (UCY) and met with UCY Rector Tasos Christofides.

Ambassador Yang introduced the development of higher education in China. He commended the UCY’s vital role in promoting bilateral educational cooperation, and expressed willingness to promote exchanges and cooperation between China’s high-level universities and the UCY, so as to cultivate more high-quality talents for the development of both countries.

Rector Christofides introduced the UCY’s educational philosophy and its cooperation with China. He stressed that the UCY attaches great importance to cooperation with China, and it will expand mutual visits and interactions with Chinese universities and contribute even more to the China-Cyprus friendship.

Ambassador Yang also visited the Confucius Institute at the UCY, the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, and the library of UCY.
