Chinese Consul General in Melbourne Fang Xinwen Attends Victorian Premier's Multicultural Gala Dinner

On August 22, Consul General Fang Xinwen attended the Victorian Premier's Multicultural Dinner. More than 1,000 people attended the event, including Victorian Premier Hon. Ben Carroll MP, Federal Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs Hon. Julian Hill MP, Victorian Minister for Multicultural Affairs Hon. Paul Edbrooke MP, Victorian Opposition Leader Ms Jess Wilson MP, members of Consular Corps in Melbourne, and representatives from multicultural communities.

During the event, Consul General Fang engaged in friendly exchanges with representatives on topics such as China-Australia relations, Victoria's exchanges with China, and the development of Chinese community. He expressed his willingness to work with all sectors of Victorian society to strengthen multiculturalism and jointly promote the positive development of China-Australia friendship and Victoria's cooperation with China. Premier Ben Carroll and others stated in their remarks that multicultural is an important symbol of Australian society and that they will continue to support local multiculturalism and stand ready to work with multicultural communities to promote Victoria's prosperity and development.

The Federation of Chinese Associations VIC and the Asian Business Association of Whitehorse set up Chinese cultural booths at the event, which offered interesting experience to crowds of visitors.
