Chinese Consul General in Chicago Wang Baodong Attends the U.S.-China Soybean Industry Partnership Breakfast

On August 7, Consul General Wang Baodong attended and delivered remarks at the U.S.-China Soybean Industry Partnership Breakfast hosted by the U.S. Soybean Export Council in Chicago.

Consul General Wang briefed the participants on China-U.S. soybean trade and agricultural cooperation in recent years. He noted that the Chinese and U.S. heads of state successfully met in Beijing in May, and agreed on building a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability, providing strategic guidance for the future development of the most important bilateral relations in the world and charts the course for closer exchanges and cooperation between the business communities of our two countries. China and the United States are highly complementary in agriculture, and soybean trade has long been an important part of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. There are no winners in tariff or trade wars, and that the two sides should work together to expand the cooperation list, shorten the negative list, translate the important consensus reached by the two Presidents into concrete actions. Wang expressed the hope that U.S. agricultural organizations will continue to serve as bridges and bonds, promote two-way exchanges and cooperation, and work together to write a new chapter in China-U.S. agricultural cooperation.
